Universities with full-tuition for me?

Hi, everyone! As you can see, I'm a desperatel international student and I really need help with you guys about which University/college I should go to.

My stats are : High school class A+, GPA 4.0 , Honor Course History and Math, Sixth in Houston District Number Sense Competition, First in Texas State Math Competition, 2190 SAT (I know 10 points, 780 Math - 700 CR, Beta Club member, 100+ volunteer hours for a dental office and school campus help, and possible (not yet) school valedictorian. I didn't participate in any sports (my parents budget doesn't allow me to waste time or insurance-strip, money-costing activities like these). Since my school is a small private school with less than 60 students, these stats aren't that impressive and I'm afraid I will not be able to get full tuition like many of my friends do. I know I should have gone for PSAT, but I freaking didn't know about the NMQST scholarship thing since I came to AMERICA WITH ZERO ENGLISH PROFICIENCY. My PSAT score? 142 LOL (11th grade)

NOw I'm currently a senior in HS, staying in Houston, deciding what university I should attend. I have got zero (yes, zero) universities' honor invitation and so for the past 5 days i kept looking for school that I'm eligible for a tuition-free scholarship, but so far, I have got none. Please, if possible, can you guys find me a school where I can apply to and get a decent scholarship (that I can pay less than 5000) to attend. It's too late for me to get any change in my school transcript ( actually I didn't want to), and I kinda feel bad not knowing where to go. I DESPERATELY NEED HELP.

If there is a God on this forum, please give me an answer

* I’m eligible for a tuition-free scholarship, but so far, I have got none. Please, if possible, can you guys find me a school where I can apply to and get a decent scholarship (that I can pay less than 5000) to attend. *

It sounds like you need MORE than a tuition scholarship because $5k isn’t enough to pay for room, board, books, fees.

How much are your parents paying for your private high school???

What is your major?

The University of Alabama would give you (even as an int’l) free tuition. If you major in engineering or comp sci, it would give you 2500 per year more.

however, that would still leave you with more than $5k per year to pay.

I think you have to show that you have all your costs covered as an int’l.

Since you’re already in the US, do you have a visa to stay here to go to college?

(As an int’l, the PSAT/NMF thing wouldn’t apply to you.)

* I have got zero (yes, zero) universities’ honor invitation *

Are you talking about Plan II or what?

You qualify for Bama’s honors college, and you’d be a strong competitor for its elite honors program…Computer Based Honors.

Are you getting a green card?

well forget 'bout the room and board thingy … just the tuition alone. It’d be fine since my relatives promised to support me with tuition and board if I got full-tuition scholarship. Just the tuition alone I guess (<5000 a year) … any more recommendations?
Being an international student is hard :frowning:
Yes I can stay in US for college/university and NO I don’t have a green card and I don’t intend to get one until I’m like “graduated” or something
P/S : Pre-dentistry is my major

Pre-dentistry is not a major. It’s a list of regular classes that you have to take…Chem, OChem, Bio, etc.

Are you going to major in Chemistry?

* just the tuition alone. It’d be fine since my relatives promised to support me with tuition and board if I got full-tuition scholarship. Just the tuition alone I guess (<5000 a year) … any more recommendations?
*

So, your relatives will pay your room and board? So, will the $5k go for books, fees, and personal expenses?

As I said, Bama will give you free tuition. I don’t know of any other higher ranked schools that will give a full tuition scholarship to an int’l. There might be some lower ranked schools like LSU.

What is “predentistry” ?

Mom2’s suggestion for U of Alabama would solve your problem. Your tuition would be paid in full…and your relatives could pay the rest of the costs.

Sulich01…Since you are living in the Houston area, have you looked into applying to Rice? Obviously an outstanding institution, and according to their website they offer both the Lovett and the Allen scholarships to foreign nationals (on a competitive basis) which would pay half and full tuition respectively.

The advantage of Bama’s scholarship is that it’s automatic based on your stats.
