<p>Today I recieved a letter saying I got the University Achievement Award which covers tuition and fees.... I was not aware that UVA had merit scholarships besides the Jefferson Scholarship. I was wondering becuase the letter was dated april 1 so it might be an april fools joke or something.... a very mean joke. Anyway I just wanted to know if anyone else got this letter and if it is a real scholarship... Thanks</p>

<p>I'm just curious to know from those who were awards the University Achievement Award...what does UVa mean by diversity? Are you guys diverse?</p>
<p>It was quike frankly a shock for me because I did not get rodman and my stats is not steller.... 3.86 wiegthed 3.4 unwieghted SAT 1490... But it does present me with a dilemma.. I got into VCU guaranteed medical school and was all set to go... but this scholarship makes UVA cheaper than VCU for me.... so the question becomes... take the easy ride at VCU or kill myself in Biomedical engineering. As to diversity... I cannot say diffinitely that I am diverse in terms of my interests... but I am diffinetly unique.... or so I have been told.</p>

-Hispanic (explains my 580 in verbel and 510 in writing)
-First Generation to go to college
-LOADED with ECs</p>
<p>I dont think stats are the most important factor for the award.
"The most competitive applicants will demonstrate through Part II of the application." Which were the essays. My essays were Great spent like 8 months on it since i got in ED and UVA was the only school I had to worry about. lol</p>
