University Appeal Success? UCSB, who else appealed if so what was the result (2015)

So I’m appealing because when I was self-reporting my scores I accidentally put a D in a nonweighted course that I took during my Junior year. Of course I got an A, so I sent my explanation of what happened, my transcripts to back me up, and a letter or rec.
When I went to UCSB, they said that if you received an automatic no on may 1st it was because they reached their cap on how many CA kids they can take. The fact that we are all seeing “decision pending” is a blessing. It means we have a chance.
The reason they are waiting until mid-may is because (from what the admission counselor told me) they are waiting for schools such as UCB, UCSD, UCLA, etc. to take from their waitlists so that kids who have already SIRed to UCSB will change what school they are going to and UCSB will be able to admit more appeal and waitlist kids. The longer we wait, the better. KEEP FAITH ALIVE. Everything will work out for the best. Focus on APs right now. Good luck.

@Sarahhbaby hey what will the portals say? Like will the appeal status say denied/ approved or yes/no when it comes to the final decisions. Or will we recieve a mailed letter?

@DashaVik from what i’ve heard, it will say that you are denied or granted admission. You will also receive an email letting you know that your portal has been updated. When my portal is updated, I will post on here (if I remember) to remind everyone.

Appeal decisions are out. Mine did not get accepted :frowning:

@KelsyP were you orgininally waitlisted or denied?

mine was not approved as well :frowning:

I was originally denied

Appeal not accepted :/. Looks like I’m going to Davis!!

Appeal denied :frowning:

Mine still says decision pending. Anyone else?

@nattycat66 Mine says pending too!

me too guys, me too! the plan is local community for one year, transfer to Santa Barbara city sophomore and then UCSB! Easier from SBCC and higher success rate.

@pugluver97 I’m going to take this as a good sign

Hey guys this is a serious question but can you appeal to UCSB when you got accepted but chose not to go there? I hate where I am right now and wished I had SIRd to SB
