University at Buffalo Class 2022 Thread

for people who received scholarships how much do they give approximately

I think the Provost is up to $5,000.00.

Does anyone know when scholarships are coming up for RD? Also what are my chances:
31 ACT and 1390 SAT(new)

I got 15000 for prestigious scholarship

My DD was accepted back in early November just got a letter yesterday notifying of Provost Scholarship/Pride of NY (we are in state) $5k per year - no word of Honors yet though (it is not clear if that info would usually arrive together)
30 ACT 94 uGPA 8 AP’s good EC’s

so my DD applied in October to aerospace engineering and honors college. her stats: SAT 1490, ACT 35,
avg 97.92, varsity sports, multiple NYS scholar athlete awards, top 3% on the National Spanish Exam, honor society, lots of other EC’s. We haven’t heard a thing…no correspondence at all, don’t even know if she’s been accepted. Acc’d to her UB portal, all documents were received --also back in October.

Anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

My son has been in touch by email with the Dean of the Honors College since before he applied. I would suggest contacting them by email (if for Honors college) or calling the main admissions office if not for Honors. I can tell you it has been our experience that the Honors college has been very responsive to emails, the main admissions office not so much. Telephone is probably the way to go with them.

My son’s case: His was notified of his acceptance electronically on December 1 after applying just before Thanksgiving. Of course, he hadn’t logged in so he didn’t see the notice until the 10th!!! The notice said he would receive official notification in mail within two weeks. My son contacted the Honors college and said there is sometimes a delay and not to panic. We received the letter in the mail just before Christmas. Point is, reach out directly to somebody because something isn’t right. If she applied to the Honors College, PM me and I can give you the name of our contact.

I got accepted as an international student last week!
SAT: 1410
SAT 2: 800 Math 2, 760 Math 1, 750 Bio M
GPA: 9.3
Still waiting for the decision from Honors College and the Financial Aid package

I noticed ukdebc mentioned Provost/Pride of NY Scholarship of $5,000. Is it two separate awards then? I see on the website they are both listed, but wasn’t sure if it was possible to get both.

My daughter also received the Provost/Pride of NY split. The Provost said: must be used towards tuition & the Pride of NY said: towards expenses and fees.

hey plese tell me if u get merit aid thanks !!! i m also needing it so will be glad to hear from u

do you mean merit aid ? what were ur scores tho ???

Just got in. Applied in December and I have 33 ACT, 90 gpa, 5 APs, and ~10 honors. I had 2 10/10 recommendations and one 8/10 recommendation plus a 7/10 essay

Anyone know when scholarships/aid will be posted?

Did any international student get their decision already? It’s supposed to be released today

So financial aid letters are available today. My DD apparently got a Pride of NY scholarship at some point, its worth $3000 ($1500/semester).

Acceptances are still coming. I Received my acceptance yesterday via email. UB is my number one choice!

What are your stats?

GPA-3.6
SAT 1280
Jock. ( heavy)
Along with the usual stuff and community service that most applicants have.

I applied early decision in november and I am worried because I have still to hear back. I’ve called before many times and they always say in a few weeks or that they cannot say when. Its my top choice.
I have a 3.6 GPA, my SAT isn’t very good 1040. I took two AP courses and an Honors course and Im currently taking a couple dual credit courses. I have participated in many clubs, national honor society, recieved some awards, work at mcdonalds, and I have had two Internships. I want to major in architecture and sent in a portfolio with some of my best work. They asked me in late january for my mid year grades, which last semester I did well with a 95-96 average. I hope they accept me it seems like the smarter kids are getting in first.
