Hi everyone! I was accepted in University at Buffalo in early December and applied to the honors college in November. I was curious when they will start sending out notifications. Also, do you know how many apply? I know they take 325 students but I’m curious of how many kids apply.

I got an email saying I would hear back in early March about the honors college. I have no idea how many apply, but I’m hoping I’ll get in - I met with an honors adviser in the fall and she was amazing and encouraged me to apply for the Presidential Scholarship (which I did not receive unfortunately), but they were awesome. I have a 33 ACT composite and am ranked 9/344 with 9 AP’s and PLTW, and the adviser basically told me I would get into honors.

@samanthabw I think you stand a really good chance too (from what I read online) and wow you’re so smart…I do not nearly compare to how intelligent you are, and I cant believe you did not receive the scholarship! If not you, then who!!!

I got a different scholarship (Provost, it’s 5k a year) so it’s okay (:
I hope you get into honors! I think a lot of it is motivation, because there are a lot of kids who could do honors but do not want to. See you around hopefully!!

They told me i didnt make it to the interview round via email
They sent me an email, I got it right before Christmas

My son also got his honors letter today!
We are waiting anxiously for a letter. My S really wants to be part of the Honors College. It seems like a fair number of invitations have been sent.

@chi1998 I was honestly shocked I got in. I had always heard you need a 1400+ sat to be considered but I had a 1320sat 680 reading 640 math. 3.8 GPA. I got into school of management. I’m extremely involved in clubs.(model un pres, mock trial, student council, etc) Both my parents are alumni.
