I intend to do a double major in Communication/Advertising and International Business. Would like to know which of these two university is better?

In terms of location, major, and life.I was told that University at Buffalo is better in terms of location and social/night/shopping etc. etc. They also have a good business school.

According to the US rankings University of Nebraska tops Buffalo. But I need the locals(US residents) opinion on this. Would they be impress with UNL or University at buffalo.

Any thoughts anyone?

Are you an international student?

yes. So do you have any views on the above matter?

First thing you need to do is forget about the rankings.

The schools are vastly different. In my opinion, SUNY Buffalo is a better school. They are known for having an excellent business program.

I have a friend who spent his first semester at UNL. He had a great time socially, but the weather was awful (it will be pretty bad at Buffalo in the Winter too). UNL is a pretty big party school with an emphasis on their football program. If you don't like football and drinking, you are going to have a hard time fitting in.

Buffalo is only a few hours away from Toronto (which is a great city). Buffalo has a pretty large international population, while UNL does not.

You may want to look into a few more state schools. Here are some schools with lots of international students.

University of Oregon 5% (large number of international students, I believe they have an entire dorm for international students, though others can live in it)
Purdue- 6 % (known for having lots of international students)
Arizona State- 4 % (2nd biggest school in the U.S.)
Michigan State- 4%
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign- 5%
University of Wisconsin-Madison- 4%

If you want to look into private schools, USC, BU, and NYU all have lots of international students, but that may be too expensive.

RoxannaY-
I think SUNY Buffalo is a better choice. But, why are you only considering Buffalo and Nebraska? Why not consider some private schools. You might get some outstanding financial aid? And, be careful, there is SUNY Buffalo and SUNY COLLEGE at Buffalo, two different schools. Make sure you have the right one in mind.
