Son just got word of University Honors! He is very excited, as he thought his ACT scores would really hurt him. I guess they really do look at the whole application!! ;-) Good luck to everyone!

congratulations

We are in Ohio, about 2.5 hours driving time Northeast of Oxford, if that is any help in gauging mail delivery for you. Of course, sometimes it takes longer for a letter to get across town here than across country!

I'm in Versailles, KY and I got my letter today---accepted into university honors!

golfchic did u apply ed? congrats guys, wat were you alls gpa's?

Congrats, golfchic!!

My son received University Honors letter Saturday, yea! His GPA is 3.77 unweighted, he applied Regular Decision, official admission letter will come February. Good luck to all and Merry Christmas!

thanks! my weighted gpa is 4.4--i applied reg. decision--its nice to have one acceptance before Xmas!

Son's gpa was 3.92 unweighted, 4.18 weighted.

wait how did you get accepted when we don't hear intill like Feb?

Son applied for Harrison Scholarship, deadline for which was November 1. You could apply Early Admission or Regular. The scholarship notification letter said he did not receive the Harrison, but did receive Honors Scholarship with the official admission letter coming in February.

I got a letter today!!, which initially threw me into shock because I thought it meant I received the Harrison Scholarship.

To summarize it said that they had an exceptional year for Harrison Scholars and I was not selected but I am a top priority for their Honors Program so they have the $2,000/yr plus an extra $1,000/yr if i attend a Saturday orientation in February known as Scholar Saturday. The letter is ambiguous but it sounds like they are also offering $7,000, but I'm not sure and I need to ask them if that is per year or one-time. I'm not sure if this is truly a special year or if they do this every year, so if anyone knows feel free to clarify.

I'm pretty bummed I didn't get the Harrison Scholarship so I probably won't be attending in the Fall but time will tell. Congrats and good luck to everyone else!!

P.S. Any Harrison Scholars around?
