university housing apts vs. westwood apts

if you're offered a university apartment, cant you pick your own roommates?

do you find out if you got a univ apt. at the same time when you are assigned a time to sign up for a room?

i think this is how it goes. ive never done it so those who have or know more feel free to correct me....

anyone eligible to return to campus housing can sign up for university apartments. sign up is just like dorm sign ups and is done at the same time as dorm sign ups. the roommate with the earliest time can sign up the whole room (apt). you can pick the building and apartment you want. only one gender per apartment, no coed living.

but you better have like one of the first sign up times because they fill up EXTREMELY quickly.

If you guys need a place around Westwood, I strongly recommend you visit Zuma Housing. They have furnished apartments with paid utilities, cable and internet. You can rent a whole apartment, private or a shared room with their convenient short-term lease option. Keep it in mind and good luck :)

Definitely Zuma Housing is the way to go. They have furnished whole apartment, private and shared room options. Utilities, cable and internet are also included in the rent which is a great deal. I have been happily living in one of their apartments for almost 2 years in Westwood.
