University Inn and Suites

We are looking for a motel within walking distance of campus, and University Inn and Suites on W. Tennesee fits the bill. However, the reviews I read on the various travel sites are mixed. Some say it's okay as long as you are not expecting anything fancy, others make it sound downright dangerous, loud, dirty, smelly, etc. It certainly is inexpensive ($50 a night). Do you FSU veterans here have any opinions? This would be for just a very quick one-night stay while my son interviews at FSU. No expectation of a vacation wonderland or anything.

the Marriott Courtyard has all you need. Clean, close, quiet, pool, etc.

University Inn is very conveniently located but it can be noisy and not very clean.
It could be ok for one night if you have low expectations.

I stay further away at the Staybridge Inn & Suites which is really nice sometimes $89 a night.

Residence Inn is a bit expensive, but real nice and across the street from the campus.

I did not see that thread. Thanks!

University Inn not so great. But for $50 might be a steal… If you are checking in late on a weeknight and checking out early the next day, and you just need a bed, its going to be a good deal. If you need it for more than just sleeping, or on a weekend, I would look elsewhere. The Marriott Residence Inn can sometimes be had weekdays for not so much. Also, the Doubletree Hotel is not a bad walk and has online specials.

The weekend rates tend to be lower than the mid week rates at the Residence Inn. When checking out the rates, remember that they offer a really good free breakfast buffet.
