University of Arizona Honors vs. Arizona State University Barrett?

I just want some thoughts. Got accepted to both with a similar scholarship.

U of A all the way. No question

Have you checked whether your possible majors are stronger at one compared to the other?

The problem is that I am not quite sure what I want to do major-wise. Probably something science related, so I was leaning toward the U of A.

And don’t just say one or the other, say why.

Have you visited? I would think Barrett might be the better choice. They have their own dorms, dining, classes, etc.

I have visited both. I think that Barrett is the better Honors College, but I think that the U of A might be a better choice overall.

U of A Honors has the better program and prestige.

UofA baby! I went there and had an amazing experience. Albeit, ASU is really an “up and comer” and I did attend the UofA in the 1980’s! My sister went to ASU with her husband for grad school. Anyway, you’ll do fine at both schools. I prefer the UofA for the city and the nature.

UofA could be considered more rigorous. Not sure about how it weighs/plays currently, but a few years ago you needed a cum 3.5 for UoA honors. It was/is? the only PAC college that didn’t utilize plus or minus in the grading structure…

ASU is huge. I know a number of freshman to the general program who have trouble adapting to the size/lack of connection to others. Barrett is the exception. Fabulous.

Yes, check to see what the threshold GPAs are to retain scholarships, if the scholarships are necessary to be able to afford to attend. It would be a shame to drop out due to financial reasons if you got a 3.49 GPA to lose a scholarship that requires a 3.50 to keep.

As stated in a previous thread, Barrett doesn’t have any threshold GPAs to maintain.

ASU prides itself on excellence. The following webpages highlight’s ASU’s excellence: [Excellence at Arizona State University](Excellence at Arizona State University)

But my favorite is all the ASU recognition of outside organization (e.g. Forbes, Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report), including “ASU named top producer of Fulbright scholars”, the majority of which come from Barrett. [Recognition of Excellence at ASU](http://www.asu.edu/excellence/recognition.html)

I couldn’t find a similar page on the U of A site.
