University of Arizona OR Arizona State?

I'm an in-state HS senior who needs help in deciding between ASU and UA. ASU is 40 minutes max from home, although I'd still live on campus. UA is a couple hours away.

I'm still undecided as to a major, which makes comparing the two schools very challenging. I'm leaning towards pre-pharmacy or pre-med, but I'm nowhere near declaring by the time of application.

One advantage with UA is that their undeclared students are part of University College, which is the same college where pre-health (pre-pharm, pre-med, etc.) go as they complete their general education requirements. I don't know if the same is true at ASU, but it doesn't seem so. In fact, I had to declare a major at time of application, while UA let me apply undeclared.

UA will automatically tell me if I'm accepted into their Honors College, while I believe I have to apply to ASU's honors college at time of application.

If I'm a senior not ready to declare a major, how can I best make this decision? I already have a guaranteed tuition waiver and will wait to hear back from both schools on scholarships.

What are the pros/cons of both schools for an undeclared applicant? Thanks.

You should direct these questions to the UofA and ASU forums in the alpha list of schools...

DudeDad, I'll try to do that. The reason I didn't originally post there is because (as you might well know) there's a huge rivalry between the two Arizona schools and I thought the opinions might be too biased in specific forums. If this isn't the appropriate place to post, I'll end the discussion here. Thanks.

ASU's honor app is up now and it is not too bad; has a short essay.
How do you feel about Tuscon vs. Tempe?

My D is also deciding (although applying to other colleges); felt Tuscon was dead feeling but like the UA campus and feel. ASU was so huge but it seemed kind of exciting but would want to be in honors there just to have a home base.

Thanks, okgal. I applied to Barrett and look forward to hearing from them. I'm also applying to OOS schools. In-state are my safeties.
