I was wondering what people’s opinions are on these 3 honors colleges. I would be OOS for all 3 and I’ve already applied to nearly a dozen colleges already so I don’t think I’ll apply to all 3. I have a 4.0 GPA and a 1480 SAT. I think I will be able to get into all 3. My parents can pay for all 3, so there are no limitations on expenses. I haven’t decided a major but most likely something in business or social sciences. Please let me know what you think! All responses are appreciated. Thanks.
Also wanted to include U of Kentucky honors college. I also want to know about the social scenes at each school, student body, campus setting, etc. Thanks!
I’m an LSU grad so I’m biased but their honor’s college has come a long way. They recently received a large donation to continue improvements. They have small seminars taught by professors for freshmen which is a huge plus that LSU and many honors colleges offer. The negative is Louisiana politics have hurt LSU in general over the last couple years. That is a concern. The E.J. Ourso College of Business is one of the best colleges at LSU and also has key benefactors. Honors dorms are pretty good.
Do you prefer one state to another? You would get merit at all three most likely. Do you have family in LA, AR, or AL? I would say LSU is middle of the road for the dominance of fraternities/sororities for an SEC school. It’s easy to find your place if you like it or if you don’t. Not sure on Bama and Arkansas but it’s a question to ask.
@sportsman88 no I don’t have family in any of the 3, one side of the family lives in Mississippi so I’ve already applied to Ole Miss cause my cousin goes there but I want to add another southern state school. I currently don’t favor any of the 3 more than the other 2. Thanks for the LSU info, it helps!
