University of auburn honors program

How prestigious is the honors program at Auburn does anyone know when they announce whether you got in or not?

When did you apply?

From the AU website…
*
Entering freshmen and currently enrolled Auburn students who demonstrate the potential for outstanding academic achievement are eligible for admission in the University Honors College. Minimum requirements for admission are 1) a high school grade point average of 3.5 and 2) an ACT score of 29 or an SAT score of 1280. Selection of incoming freshmen is based on GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and evidence of the candidate’s activities and leadership.

Invitations to apply to the College will be sent to all students who meet the Honors minimum requirements and who have been accepted by Auburn University prior to December 1. If you meet the minimum requirements but have not received an invitation to apply to the Honors College by the end of December, please contact the University Honors College Office at 334-844-5860. *

I would call the above number when offices re-open next week.

I applied I thought it was parky merit based not just scores so I guess I’m automatically admitted if I have a 3.55 and 1330 thanks a lot

I’m not sure if everyone with the minimum stats are admitted to Auburn’s Honors. So, I would call this week and ask when they notify.

I do think that you have a good chance since your SAT is about 95 percentile. :)

Have you heard anything yet? I am still confused as to whether admission is automatic if you have minimum scores and decent ECs - Some say yes and some no. So just wondered what your take was.

Auburn University. An Honors student should know that.

Admission is not automatic the posted scores make you elligibile for considearation with notifications going out in march.

Good luck!

and, yes, it’s called Auburn University ( AU )

VPicone - that makes more sense I had heard letters go out in January and February but March makes more sense with the amount of applicants I know they have this year.

Spoke to Auburn University Honors College today. The notifications for admission to Honors College are sent in February. They did not mention which week, just that it is in February.

Metro…are the Honors classes limited in size at AU?

Do you know how many freshman are typically admitted to Honors each year?

typically, about 200 students are admitted

Spoke to Honors College. For Fall 2010, they expect to send acceptance letters to Honors College to about 600 students. Naturally, the students will need to return the acceptance form which will be sent sometime in February.
