did you take the old SAT?
New and just got a 1050…
Are you EOP?
Where else are you applying?
With EOP you have a shot, but otherwise, not (unless you mean Buffalo State).
Aim for a 1200 on the SAT and you should be golden.
Hello, can you provode an opinion on the chances with this profile:
NYer
SAT 25
GPA 89 (3.5) - 93 (9.7) if I count music and gym.
Tons of volunteer work
Strong recommendation letters
Brother goes there.
Applied early decision.
What do you think.
^what major?
Education
You’re good, breathe easy.
You could try and apply to honors - they mustn’t have many applications from Honors majors, and may cut you some slack. You’d have priority registration (worth its price in gold) and smaller, more interactive classes.
No matter what, apply to several other universities, “just in case”.
I’m currently a junior (rising senior) who lives in NYC. I was looking for colleges within my state and Buffalo was of particular interest to me. However, my performance in school is not great; I have a 88 (3.3) gpa and I failed a regents exam which I was unable to retake over the summer due to an illness. I’m for certain going to retake the failed regents exam in January, but I feel as if I won’t be able to submit my regents score by the February deadline for UB. My SAT score is not great either; I have a 1270/1600, although I am taking the August SAT and on my most recent practice test I got a 1400/1600. I have 3 letters of recommendation, one from my guidance counselor, one from my engineering teacher, and one from my English teacher. I also have decent extracurriculars; I’ve worked over the summer in the SYEP program this summer and the previous summer. If anyone here knowledgeable about UB and the general college application process could help me, it would be much appreciated.
Sorry for posting in an old thread but no one was replying to the thread that I made.
