University of Buffalo Graduate MPH/MBA Program

Hello all,

I want to try and get some information from people who have either attended UB preferably in the MPH, MBA, or dual program. Your thoughts, how hard is it to get into, living there, etc.

I'll give you some background information about myself. I graduated from Suffolk County Community College (Associates in Liberal Arts) and St. Joseph's College (Bachelors in Business Administration GPA: 3.34) on Long Island New York. I understand my GPA isn't the greatest but, I worked full time, interned at two different places, and played on the ice hockey team.

Currently I am 24 years old and have been out of school for over year and I am being attracted to the healthcare industry. It's a field that will always be in demand and growing but, I like the fact that I could be doing something that will actually make a difference in someones life. By no means do I want to be a doctor but, would like to work in the healthcare industry on the business side of things. That's why I like the dual MPH/MBA program. I always intended to get my MBA and with this dual program I can specialize in one industry.

I currently have no experience in the healthcare industry but, I think from working full time for the last 6 years and two internships while attending college might be able to out weight that on the application. Also, in my research I have read you pretty much need a masters to work in the field.

The reason I am interested in UB is because one, it is a SUNY school so I can save some money. I live right by Stony Brook University and went there for a semester and didn't like it, so I am trying to avoid having to apply to there program. Those were the only two SUNY schools I found that have a dual program and I don't want to put myself in 200,000 worth of debt. And two, because it is accredited by CEPH.

Thanks in advanced for your replies.

Sheesh
