I'm posting this question on behalf of a lot of my friends who are starting to get rather anxious about not getting letters from the UC's they applied to and were guaranteed to through the ELC program. I was not guaranteed into UCI but I got my acceptance letter before they did, even though they were guaranteed and applied. Is there anything else separate that they should be doing or is it nothing to worry about? Feedback please and thank you!

I don't think there is anything they can do, but it is something to possibly stress about. My friend had ELC and was guaranteed admissions to Davis but then didn't get in because of his extremely impacted major he wanted. In my opinion though, it's all a waiting game; having the patience is the biggest thing. I have ELC as well and I haven't heard anything from UCI. I'm trusting that when they said congrats in their first letter, they really meant it.

oh wow, really? i didn't know that could happen to an ELC student.. both of my friends still haven't heard from UCI, not even Santa Barbara.. and I've already heard from UCI and UCSD. it's really starting to get to them and i'm so worried for them too.

is anyone else in this same situation? has anyone tried calling admissions to find out whats going on?

D is ELC Biology major and is in at UCD, UCI and UCSD. You should be hearing soon.

CHILL. Santa Barbara has not released ANY decisions yet. You should have received an e-mail from SB stating decisions would be posted tomorrow. Irvine sends out in waves, so letters are probably still being processed.

ELC does guarantee admissions to D, SB, & I, but not to a few specialized majors, such as theater.
