University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

Usually the 4.0 students gets the regents invitation at UCLA

do we have any old regent invitee stats?

What does Berkeley Update due by Feb. 15 mean? Does it mean we must finish it before midnight of the 14th, or midnight of the 15th? I'm really scared...is there anything on the site that says concretely when it's due, besides just Feb. 15?

I'm an obsessive drafter. I continuously draft to the deadline...always. Thanks for any help!

I read somewhere that says that you can turn it in on feb 15th even though it will get there after, so i guess you must turn it in by like 11:59 on feb 15.

is it just me or does the ucsd website not work to find out admissions?
https://www-act.ucsd.edu/admissionsso/applicant

also what is the link for ucla? i haven't received any e-mail from them yet. has anyone else received email from ucla?

I probably don’t have a chance in the world but what do the schools look for when handing out regent scholarships ?

nevermind I found it

P.S. the UCSD Admission page worked for me.

does UCLA ask for mid-semestre grade report? if they do, does it play a part in their admission decisions? if the mid-semstre grade report is not a transcript, what is it?

i have a question. let's say I've got another 2 1/2 years to finish all my pre-reqs for the architecture major at UC berkeley. That means that after 1 1/2 years, ill be applying for the fall, and Ill have another year left to finish the pre-reqs. Does this mean that my chances of getting in will be lowered because my pre-reqs aren't done? Or will the school request a schedule of classes that Ill be taking AFTER i apply? does this make any sense?

XXkidofemericaXX - All students that apply to any or all of the UCs have to submit updates on their grades and they submit a form that tells what classes they are currently are taking and have planned, including what is planned for the summer before you the term you applied for. Here is the timeline that fall 2007 applicants went through:

November 30th, 2006 - Submit application online to UCs, indicating all UCs you're applying to and your intended major at each one.

February 14th/15th, 2007 - Deadline to submit form to the UCs that includes final grades from the fall 2006 semester, grades in progress for the spring 2007 semester, and planned grades for the summer of 2007.

March 15 - May 1, 2007 - UCSB decisions mailed
April 30, 2007 - Cal decisions available online

Did any transfer students get a Regent finalist E-Mail today (2/14). I see on the other forums that freshmen got them.

No, nor do I know what that is.

to smith, i read that ucsb will post their decision sometime in april unfortunately...

"February 14th/15th, 2007 - Deadline to submit form to the UCs that includes final grades from the fall 2006 semester, grades in progress for the spring 2007 semester, and planned grades for the summer of 2007."

planned grades for the summer? in progress grades for spring? My classes just started a week ago... there have been no assignments. Also why would you write your planned grades??

wth? you dont write your expected grades for the spring, i just wrote "IP" for in progress!

smith415, thanks for the explanation. now by summer of 2007, did you mean a semester taken in the summer of 2007, or final grades of courses that will be completed by the summer of 2007? and so for admission for the fall of one year, I'd have to apply in the fall of the previous year, after which they will track my classes taken and grades in them to determine their final decision, right? so in other words, it's fine if i havent finished all my prereqs by the time i apply, just us along as i finish them by the spring before the admitted fall term, right?

You don't write in planned grades, u write in IP. Read the directions people, it's not that difficult

I don't think he meant planned grades...I think he meant planned classes...it was just a typo. I understood what he was trying to say...
btw...the last set of grades they use to determine your transfer admission is the spring prior to transfer, they do not use the summer grades prior to the fall transfer

Technically, the last set of grades they use to determine transfer admission is fall prior to transfer, with the spring grades used to determine if u get admission revoked (i.e. 1.00 gpa spring semester)

how much of a differrence do you think a a 3.80 GPA versus 3.82 or 3.85 GPA is in regards to acceptance to UCB's impacted programs?(HAAS, engineering, etc.)

Do you think those hundreth of a points matter that much?
