University of Central Florida Admissions Fall 2022

How long does it take to get a decision? My OOS DD22 applied for summer on 11/1. Have not heard anything yet.

Same here, we havenā€™t heard anything. My daughter applied on 11-17. We are Fl. residents

Iā€™m trying to remember. I know we applied prior to Nov 1, 2019, but Iā€™m not sure how far ahead of that. We got accepted for Summer 2020 in late January, took a tour at UCF in early Feb and accepted immediately.

But that was two years ago actually before Covid, and Iā€™m sure things have changed since then.

If you get accepted for Summer, definitely accept. Itā€™s UCFā€™s best-kept secret!

We applied around Oct. 25th, for Summer, still no answer. I called today and they said everything is received and in order, but it is still under review. Some friends have already heard back and not others, and it seems when people applied isnā€™t any indication. Neither are stats as some high stat kids still havenā€™t heard and others did. Itā€™s hard to know what is going on and the wait is really stressful, especially when weā€™ve heard back from other schools and are worried about waiting too long to accept and running out of housing options

UCF needs to move away from ā€œrollingā€ admission. It takes way to long for them to get back to people. Has UF and FSU released decisions? I havenā€™t kept up with them this year.

Are you in state or OOS?

In state.

Typically there is some movement after January 15th because that is when Top 10 Knights have to apply. Those people are guaranteed admission, they have to save space. Itā€™s frustrating to have to keep waiting without a definite end date!

UF releases on the last Friday in February, every year. And FSU releases on February 17th, 2022.

Very helpful for those waiting ā€“ Thanks!

Still waiting. Admitted to some other schools, but waiting to see what UCF says. My main concern with the waiting game is that housing for top choices might fill up at the other schools while waiting. We were thinking of just going ahead and paying the enrollment and housing deposit at another Florida school, but not sure if that information is shared between schools and it could affect the applications at UCF and elsewhere. Someone on another board said they donā€™t think the schools share this. Any insights?

Also, called last week to check on the status. Everything was in order but still under review. Do you think it would be good or bad to call again this week? Iā€™m not sure if it shows interest or annoys them. LOL

The thing with calling is that they really canā€™t tell you anything. The Undergraduate Admissions staff are very nice and try to be as helpful as they can ā€“ but if no decision has been made, they really canā€™t tell you much.

What I would NOT do is call them and tell them you need an answer. If thatā€™s your approach, about the only answer they can give you is noā€¦and unfortunately some have gotten exactly that.

I donā€™t know whether Florida state schools share info or not. Personally I wouldnā€™t chance it.

What is a ā€œtop 10 knightā€?

Top 10 Knights guarantees admission to any Florida student that is top 10% of their class. They have to apply by the deadline., which was January 15. They can admit to Summer, Fall or Spring, but they have to let them in as long as their SAT is at least 1100 or ACT 22.

They say notification is by March 15.

Does this program allow for enrollment in to any major?

Thank you. DD was accepted at the end of November but did not receive a Pegasus scholarship. Very disappointing! She is top 10% in her class at a top ranked FL hs. 5.2 GPA. 6 APs (all 4 and 5) and 11 DE. Her ACT is only a 30, so wondering if that hurt her? She has 300 community svc hours, 4 year varsity sport and multiple leadership roles in clubs.

And both my husband and I are alumni, so itā€™s tough to convince her to decide against UCF, but itā€™s the only school that did not give her an additional scholarship!

It was probably the ACT- UCF is numbers driven. So if you donā€™t hit certain numbers in one category you wonā€™t get scholarship. My D was in a similar situation- full IB, crazy high GPA top 5% of her class, but her scores were not high enough to get any money.

We are OOS- so full pay is so much fun! In the end, she brought in so many credits that it turned out to be, by far, her cheapest OOS. In FL you have other choices.
