University of Central Florida Honors College

I was just wondering if anyone could talk about their experience with the UCF honors college. I just want to learn more about the benefits it provides and if people in the program have enjoyed it.

Thanks in advance

Some benefits:

  • being able to live in Towers III
  • using Burnett computer lab/printing and reading room for working, studying and relaxing between classes when you don’t have time to get back to your dorm
  • having a ready made “group” on a huge campus
****** having priority registration…you can register for 2 semesters instead of one at a time. You get to register for that hard to get class before most other students.
  • easier access to honors classes that are capped at 20. Not necessarily harder, but certainly more personal and this can help establish relationships with peers and staff that can be very helpful
  • burnett benefits last 4 years instead of 2 at most schools

And many more!!!

Thanks! I’m a national merit semifinalist from out of state, so I’m just trying to get an idea of how the experiences of other students have been there.

Are you going for burnett medical honors program??

I actually only applied about 2 weeks ago, so I just got in to UCF a couple days back and now I’m trying to submit my honors college application but yes, that’s the plan. I hope to apply to the Burnett Medical Honors program. @ufmomfriend

@biologylover How were you notified of your acceptance?

I actually was in contact with one of the National merit coordinators at UCF (I had to contact him through email for a fee waiver) before the application process, and he notified me when I emailed him to ask about something I was confused about.

Congratulations!

My son applied 2 weeks ago but I’m sure his transcript has not been received yet. He’s not NMSF so a decision may take longer.

Yeah. I’ve heard UCF often has problems receiving transcripts. A lot of people end up sending it multiple times. I’m sure the transcript just hasn’t been processed yet.
