Applied EA, was deferred, then waitlisted in RD. Just want to see if that is common this year (among ED/EA, or RD). Still remaining hopeful, but not insensitive to the slim odds of being taken off the list.
I was also waitlisted. Apparently UChicago waitlists thousands as according to the last year waitlist thread, 4000 were offered a spot on the waitlist. Our odds might be slim, but at least we still have a chance!
Hopefully we’ll get some good news in the next few months.
Did I read that right? 4,000 were offered a spot to be on the waitlist? How many got off the waitlist and enrollled? Any information on that?
I’m not sure how true this is, but I heard that UChicago tends to outright accept or reject most deferred early applicants, and the very few who are waitlisted have a slight advantage. But to be honest, this advantage is probably minimal, at best. Maintain your hopeful yet realistic attitude.
Any update about waitlist??
