I’ve had an unfortunate situation in high school. I struggled with severe depression and spent a lot of the time in the hospital receiving treatment. I have a 2.55 gpa and a 24 on my ACT which I am retaking. I am also a first generation college student not really though. My parents went to school in Poland so there degrees didn’t mean much in America. I really want to go to UChicago though. I already set up an interview which I think might help me. I’m going to apply RA because I’m taking lots of AP classes this semester to boost my gpa. I think I picked good people to write my letters of recommendation.
My Extracurricular are I did Teen Court since freshman year. I started volunteering at a hospital Junior year. I did Tennis for 3 years. FBLA for 1 year.
A 2.55 GPA is an immediate rejection.
Also a thing to consider: whether a high pressure environment, even if you could get in, would be good for your depression?
It probably wouldn’t hmm thanks I didn’t think about that.
