any chance they post tomorrow?

any idea when they will? besides the obvious ("early May [or sooner]")?

is the process the same the same for transfers as first years, by which two counselors look and if they disagree someone else goes and then they discuss and debate? or does only one counselor look?

I’m wondering the same thing! but I thought that the website says Mid-May?

nope. says early may.
I’m guessing it’ll be soon for reasons I don’t particularly want to get into but that are mostly obvious

when i log onto the website, there is nowhere that i can check my materials, even though in one of the first paragraphs it says “Later on, you’ll be able to check…” although that was awhile ago. Also, I called and the lady says I should be able to check my status online, but I dont see a link for it…?

yea…there was one point in time where you could check to see if they received your stuff, but they removed that link awhile ago…so I guess if you weren’t contacted about anything missing, then you’re fine

why do you think decisions will be soon?? i talked to someone at admissions and they said almost 100% that they will be out by the end of the month though… but im curious why do you think tomorrow?

so they took off the link, meaning decisions will be mailed?

They removed the link where you used to be able to check your credentials because your credentials were due by 3/30. You were able to see the link before then, but not after 3/30.

This is not an indicator that decisions will be released soon because the credentials link had long been gone. Did you guys hear any other news?

decisons supposedly to be out before the end of the month.

Why do we think that decisions will be released today?

Well…there are no decisions :(

I just received an email that says, "As we continue to review transfer applications for next fall’s class we are also preparing for the Credit Evaluation process. Please follow the simple instructions below in an effort to insure all of your documents reach us in a timely way.

Transfer of Credit

Please provide the information requested on this form. Once you complete the form, print it out and fax all pertinent documents to 773-702-8599 (domestic fax) or 773-702-4704 (international fax). We would like to receive this information no later than April 30, 2009. "

So does anyone else receive this message in email?

Yea. My heart skipped a beat when I saw “From University of Chicago.” Ha.

yea, I got it too

I got it too.

Is everyone supposed to get one?

I’d imagine, yes. If not, it would be an anti-climactic way to release decisions.

it seems like everybody will get one…but then again, imagine all of the incoming faxes they’d have if they sent this email to every transfer student applying…that’s ALOT of paperwork via fax to expect…

btw, I just found this on the U of Chicago website:

The number of quarters for which you receive financial aid will depend on your transfer credit evaluation, which you will receive after you are offered admission.

dunno if that means anything though!!

We haven’t received credit evaluations yet. :)

Not trying to be pessimistic, just trying not to favorably interpret everything, haha.

did anyone get an email like this:

“Congratulations again on your admittance to the Class of 2013 at the University of Chicago!”

with a subject line of “Your Housing Application?”

ahh, damn them… i think they made a mistake…
