Most other top 20 universities have announced the recent state of their endowments with losses from 18-35%, except for the University of Chicago. Does anyone know what the current state of Chicago's endowment is? It seems a bit odd that they have been silent. Have they lost about the same as the others (likely), done better, or possibly they have been hiding it because they have done much worse.

Does anybody know?

University of Chicago's current endowment stands at $6.5 billion dollars, down from $7.1 billion dollars.

University of Chicago : Information about University of Chicago

From an email sent to the university community a little while ago concerning the endowment:

"Although precise figures aren’t available, over the past months the value of our endowment has declined on the order of 25 percent..."

UChicago's endowment is not doing any better or worse than any other institution's.

Also, only 13% of the University's revenue is taken from Endowment Payout, so while it's an issue, how the endowment's doing isn't really a great indicator about University revenues (which are probably also down due to the economy).
