University of Cincinnati Class of 2022 Decision Thread

@gandalf78 congratulations on your acceptance! This is very interesting. I am not worried at all, since my son was accepted EA to his top two choices with great merit package in one of them, and still waiting for merit/FA for the other. UC was his safety school, so he most likely will not attend. Still, puzzled by the misinformation.

That’s fantastic, Congrats @mardong

It’s Friday again!! We’ll be logging in again today after 5 to check, even though we know CEAS will be late Jan. early Feb. I agree, alot of moving parts at these large state schools. Would you mind sharing some of the stats that generated acceptance 2 months early?

@mardong: Two years ago my daughter applied to a large public university (not UC); and waited and waited for a decision. After many of her friends had already gotten their notifications, I finally called the admissions office to find out what was going on, only to be told that they had no record of having received my daughter’s application. Two days after this particular telephone conversation, her acceptance letter from the large public university arrived in our mailbox.

Ever since then, I tend to take with a grain of salt whatever I hear from an admissions office, whether good or bad.

@CollegeGuy2018: I started this particular thread, so you can see the stats that I posted. If there is something more particular that you are looking for, I can send you a PM.

@gandalf78 you were right about large institution not handling communications well… they had just told me decision would only come out late January!

@CollegeGuy2018 Keep checking your e-mail on Friday’s if you did not get your acceptance today. They ARE releasing results despite what they may say over the phone.
Unfortunately, my son will be most likely attending one of his top 2 choices which have already accepted him earlier this month. We live in Cincinnati, UC would have been very convenient.

@rofiorillo I believe it’s around 5pm

If there was no information about merit scholarships in my acceptance letter does that mean I didn’t earn one or does Cincinnati give them out at a later date?

They give them out later. Website says early February.

@osumom28 thanks, totally missed that!

ACCEPTED - Computer Science
UC global Scholarship - 15000$ annual award

I am a student from India and received my acceptance email surprisingly on Thursday(11 Jan) morning. I got the scholarship decision separately in another email.

Son received University Honors invitation in the mail yesterday. Still “patiently” waiting on those scholarship announcements.

^ Same here.

My admitted Nursing student D received a mailed Honors notification as well. It said she is accepted into the Honors program unless she declines it. In other words Honors is optional.

Quick update to scholarship info (for what it is worth)…I reached out to UC admissions via email and was given the following response today:

Review for scholarships has begun. Students who completed their Common Application (Common Application, transcripts, test scores) by December 1 will be considered for scholarships. Students will receive an email when the Financial Aid Award letter is available. For the 2018-19 school year, the awards letters will begin to become available in late mid-February 2018. Students will be able to access their information on line at http://financialaid.uc.edu/
