My daughter will be attending the University of Connecticut at Storrs, this fall majoring in animal sciences. The school has its own farm right on campus and many opportunities for research. The school is graduating almost 20 students this year that were accepted at Vet schools all over the world. Does anybody have any feedback on the pre-vet program at UCONN.

I was a Pathobiology major at UCONN back in the 80’s because they didn’t have a pre vet program back then. You either went into Animal Science or Pathobiology. My daughter also got accepted to UCONN for Pre Vet but wants to go to Purdue or UMaine even though UCONN is our State school and the cheapest. I think it is a great school and there are a lot of great research opportunities.

it’s a darn good school. Tell ur daughter congrats! The road to becoming a vet is long hard a puts a serious strain on ur social life. There’s also the problem of too much supply not eough demand (except in research, unconventional, like zoo & widlife, and livestock), but honestly, don’t let any of it discourage her. It’s an awesome career choice and when your decide it’s for you, all the bad stuff is like, unnoticable. Congrats on UCONN again! Go Huskies! Beat Stanford @ Final Four! xD B-)
