University of Delaware Class of 2021

bengie15 - was that 9 1/2 weeks from the date your son submitted the common app or when all of his materials
were received???

oops - my question was for chp0304

42adore, all his materials were in the day after he submitted the common app, so it was 9.5 weeks from the day he submitted the common app.

Yeah 9.5 since it was all recieved

My son got his acceptance today!

Kraww4 - Congratulations! To which school in UD was he accepted? Do you remember wen he applied? My Son
still waiting…

Son was admitted today! OOS (Texas), Engineering. 7 weeks wait on application

Hi everyone! I was accepted to UD back toward the end of December with a merit scholarship. In my acceptance letter, it said that I would hear back from the honors program by the end of March. I was wondering if that meant that I will definitely hear at the end of March or if it is possible that I will hear back sooner. Has anyone who also didn’t hear from the honors program at the time of their acceptance gotten any more information on their status? Any information would be appreciated!

eg2017, my son is in the exact same spot. He hasn’t heard anything else, yet.

@co2017nj QQ … how was your daughter notified about the result of her scholarship appeal?

Did anyone with “…by March 1st” status receive a decision yet?

My D received an acceptance notification today!!

@mtown27 it was updated in the portal first. About a week later she got the updated financial package in the mail. I can’t remember if she got a separate letter about just the scholarship, but it definitely was in the portal first.

My son’s application was complete as of 11/22/16. On Jan 6th his portal was updated with a letter stating he was waitlisted.

He has a 3.75 GPA and is ranked 46 out of 210 in a public school OOS. He scored an 1160 on his SAT’s.

Any hope he could still get in? And how was he waitlisted so soon when so many other people haven’t even heard back?

Undeclared for engineering is his major.

My D got an acceptance on her portal a few weeks ago. She’s beyond excited - still waiting for the big yellow envelope! What’s taking so long? LOL

@jmom13 I have to say, we are so disillusioned with UDel. My daughter was also waitlisted…4.23 gpa 69/430 rank. Honors, AP classes galore, started her own chapter of an international organization at her high school…I don’t get it, and I have to say, we are most likely moving on.

@photowoman Your daughter’ grades and course rigor and extracurricular seems excellent. I would guess that either your daughter’s SAT or ACT were very low (in the bottom 25%) or she submitted her application late. You or your daughter’s high school guidance counselor may want to call Admissions or your regional admissions officer for your territory to find out if a mistake was made.

Son also wait listed. App was in by Oct 1st 2016. Great GPA but lower SAT great EC and AP courses, etc. Got into Penn State (UP), Michigan State, VT, Rutgers, and Vermont. UDel is looking for certain something…I dont know.

@trackmbe3 Thanks for the advice! We actually visited about 2 weeks ago and spoke to someone from admissions. While the woman we spoke to was nice, she didn’t really offer us any great information, unfortunately.

Son was accepted, Engineering, Honors. Submitted application on January 15, received the acceptance letter in the mail about the second week in February, followed by a letter notifying him of award of a Trustee’s Scholarship in the amount of $32k total over four years (OOS). SAT 1550/1600, 4.1 GPA.
