University of Delaware Class of 2022

@MomfromPenn What were her stats? and When did she apply?? Just wondering im freaking out!! UD is my top choice!!

I would think the next few weeks will see a lot of decisions released, I know a lot of schools get bogged down right after Thanksgiving and it takes a while to catch up. Sending so many good vibes to all those waiting on here.

@MomfromPenn @julmarie3 I applied for fashion merchandising as well! Still have yet to hear anything… Called the admissions office because SO many people from my school were hearing back. They said I should hear back anytime from now till sometime in January. I also asked if anyone has reviewed my application and they said no one has viewed it yet. (Two admissions officers view it before you receive your decision) I applied mid October so I really hope it isn’t March!! UD is my top choice and I have been stressing out so much. But good to hear we’re all in the same boat. I would recommend giving them a call to see if they can provide you with any information as to when you may hear back!

I just was accepted!! My major disappeared on Wednesday and I checked my portal tonight and saw I got a 13,000 dollar scholarship and I am in the honors program!

Well my daughter got in as well, but not for her 1st choice which was Nursing. She was admitted for Biological Sciences. Is it even worth it to the change of major form?

*** What I meant is it even worth it to do the change of major form or call admissions? We are OOS, so I am thinking not.

@ReadyforANew Congratulations. That is a great accomplishment that I am sure you worked very hard for.

@MrsSouthJersey18 My D’s major is also nursing - no decision yet from any of the “Big”: schools(UDEL included and its killing her) but nice acceptances to smaller schools (5k - 10k students). If her heart is in nursing then she’ll want to have a seat in a nursing program from day one. My older D is a nursing major and the program is very rigorous - in order to transfer in your 1st year grades need to be pretty exceptional and some students struggle a bit that first year to figure it all out. Balancing independence, fun and work is tough at 18 years old  If she’s really studious then she can do it! So tough at this age - they are so excited and are so focused on that one first choice school - ours is Penn and UDEL. We check the portals constantly - her grades are great - 98.50% GPA 13 honors/AP/IB classes but SAT only 1260 - A lot to be proud of though. Getting into Biological Sciences is a great accomplishment! Congrats to your D and best of luck!

Congratulations @ReadyforANew! Great news! Do you mind sharing your stats?

@my2nurses Thank you for the kind words. She is just really disappointed. Delaware was in her top 3. Her SAT’s are a 1310, I think it was the rigor of her course work. She didn’t really start to move into honors and AP courses until her junior year. She is NHS and has worked really hard she double mathed 2 years in a row, in order to graduate with 6 maths. She was placed wrong in 8th grade and her freshman year. She does have 6 honors and AP as well as 2 dual enrollment. Fortunately she loves her top choice and was awarded the Presidential Scholarship and the Honors college.

DD just noticed a reference# was added to her portal in the last couple of days. Application was marked complete 11/9 (I believe, not sure as it like like pulling teeth to get info from her)…was this the process everyone experienced?

Did not notice the reference number appearing or not. Would imagine it means her application is moving further along in the process? Both of my daughters had their major disappear a few days before they received their acceptances. Many others have posted about their major disappearing as well so I would be on the look out for that. Good luck!

@BeachMom18 i think the reference # is added a few weeks after application is complete- my son’s was marked complete on 11/07 and the reference number appeared a week or two ago. But his major is still listed, soo…

Does anyone know when the admissions office closes down for the holidays? Just wondering how many more days we have to possibly hear before they close.

Last day you will hear is Dec 23. Not sure when they reopen tho!

Still (im)patiently waiting for Merit notification from Udel. Hoping she hears before Christmas.

My D was admitted to the nursing program over the weekend. No streamers or confetti, just a letter congratulating her and offering her merit money. Good luck to all. 2 down and a bunch more to go. Can’t wait for it all to be over and the decision made.

Congrats ! Was it on the portal or in the mail ? Trying to figure out as we still have not heard anything and we applied in October ! Not to nursing though ,good for her !

On her portal. Major disappeared on tuesday. Came back on Friday and then disappeared again. Checked portal today and it said it was updated over the weekend. Also applied in October so maybe it’s coming soon! Good luck

I applied to nursing on November 14th and my application was marked complete on November 21st. I did not do the optional questions, but I did apply to the honors college. My major disappeared Monday/Tuesday of last week, came back on Friday, and then updated yesterday (Monday). I got my decision (acceptance to nursing) and merit scholarship information at the same time but am still waiting on my honors college decision. Just figured this might help some of you still waiting
