I’m from Long Island. I have applied to UD as an incoming junior with a 2 year liberal arts degree from my community college. I applied as a criminal justice major. I’m in the honors program at my current college. I have a 3.5 gpa and by the end of this semester I’ll have a 3.75 (I’m going to send in these final grades) I’m also apart of Phi Theta Kappa, which is the national honor society for community college students. I have a few EC’s. I applied five weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago my portal changed from awaiting review to awaiting decision and my portal was updated today but no status change. What do you think my chances are of getting in? When should I hear?
I think you have a good chance of getting in. I’m planning on applying to transfer for the Spring 2021 semester but I’m really paranoid because of my first semester grades.
Have you heard anything back?
Usually people who have gone to community college and have done well with their current courses show universities that they can handle college level classes and will likely succeed at their institution. That being said, your GPA is good for UDel and having those ECs show that you’re involved in your community. You will most likely be accepted. As for the profile updates, my profile has been in the “Awaiting Decision” status for more than a month, and my profile has been updating every day since 12/15. I believe that the updating is just server updates because I’ve heard that a lot of people have been getting the same exact updates. I would say that you will probably hear back some time in January (which sucks I know, waiting is hard!).
I still haven’t heard anything back. I will post when I do though. Also, as long as you have an uptrend in your grades I think you’ll be fine.

I finally got my decision two days ago. I got an email that there was an update on my portal. So, I looked at my portal, and I got admitted for the fall 2020 semester as a criminal justice major! No financial aid information yet. I think it’s posted on the portal 2-3 weeks after acceptance.
@TransferStudent1999 I think they do rolling admissions. Do you know when you completed your application?
It took the admissions office 22 weeks to give me a decision!
