University of Denver- chances of merit aid?

I am a rising senior from Louisiana. DU is my number 1 choice school right now. I will be applying early (non-binding) and would like to know my chances for merit aid. To be able to afford the school, I would have to recieve their Chancellor or Provost scholarship.
I have a 4.0 GPA unweighted. 4.5 weighted. 31 ACT (superscore) I have been a class officer for 3 years, HOBY alumni, President of National Honor Society, in French National Honor Society, Newspaper editor, and school ambassador. My senior year schedule is AP Calc, AP Physics, AP English Lit, AP World History, French 5 and Internship. I do not qualify for financial aid.
From past experiences, will I be able to recieve a substantial amount of merit aid from DU? Do they look at other things besides GPA and ACT? I am applying to more schools but DU is my number one choice. I have visited and loved it! Looking to major in Communications and International Studies.

Thank you so much!

Have you run the net price calculator? From what I remember it gives an estimate of merit.

It’s all relative, but UDel is not really known for giving significant merit.

How much do you consider substantial? I think half tuition is possible at DU. A 31 is top 25% at DU, so you should have a shot. Still, increasing your score a little could improve your chances.

3 years ago my son got Provost with a 31 ACT and 3.93 UW GPA. Don’t know if the criteria have changed, or if things like geographical diversity (we’re from Hawaii), major (CS), extracurriculars, or financial need (we’re pretty poor) are considered.
