My son’s acceptance letter stated that merit awards would be included in the packet sent later in the week.
Thank you. I got an email saying that there was a update in my application status. So I checked my portal that they said I got accepted and included the aids info. I’m an international student so I only receive merit-based aid.
I applied EA. Got my decision yesterday. Accepted with $33,000 merit scholarship.
I just called admissions, and was told that merit awards will be mailed out Monday, and she further mentioned that awards presented in letters received this week were for ED only.
My son received an email today that his financial aid package was ready on the portal.
Financial aid is now out on the portal. Although my son was awarded the “centennial merit award”, the “financial aid” award letter clearly states that the award is only for the 2017/2018 academic year. This is confusing, because normally merit awards are for 4 years. I tried calling financial aid, however voicemail is full. Is anyone familiar with this?
@Hereinca Where did you find the financial aid and is this for ED or EA students or both? Thanks.
@pikasia At the bottom of the letter, there was a an option to:The following letters are available for this account:
Admit - December 12, 2016
Financial Aid - December 16, 2016 (displayed)
I clicked on “financial aid” and then when that opened up, clicked “pdf” in upper right hand corner. A little complicated!
I got my letter today! I live in Colorado so if you live farther away you might not have gotten it yet. I’m a direct admit to Daniels & Provost scholar, which is $20,000 + $3,000 towards housing. My stats: 3.92 unweighted GPA, 31 ACT, took advanced math last year and an AP this year, along with 4 years of cheerleading & a member of NHS this year. I also come from one of the top pubic high schools in Colorado. (Just providing this info for anyone who is thinking of applying because I know I was searching all over this forum trying to get a guess on my merit scholarship amount)
I got the Chancellor Scholarship!!I am so surprised but I am so happy! This definitely goes way up on my list.
Congrats. Did your scholarship info come in the mail or on line?
I just got it in the mail today and the letter inside is dated the 19th
I was told by someone from admissions at another school that DU was known for giving scholarships to freshmen that were reduced for further years. Are your scholarships guaranteed all four years with a minimum GPA?
My son is a junior and he has gotten the same scholarship every year. Tuition may go up, so you end up paying more, but if you keep a 2.0 (I think that’s the cut off), you are supposed to get the scholarship. Also if you move off campus, you will lose the “residence hall grant” part of it.
@00110011 Hi! I want to get the Chancellor Scholarship at DU as well. Congrats! Could you tell me about your test scores/gpa/extra stuff?
