university of dreams

Is this program worth the money? What have you guys heard about this program? Have any of y'all been a part of it and want to write about your experience

thanks

i would not do it. one of my friends told me there are other programs that are similar but cost much less and land you much more prestigous internships. I will try and find out more information from him and send it here.

Not worth the money. I would also stay away from Swiss Finance Academy, and any other high priced "internship"

^^ agree with dpa38d2u

I would disagree. My friend did the program last year and got an excellent internship working at a hedge fund in london. He liked it so much he's working as a campus rep this year, and largely based on his experience in the internship, he has a job at the top middle bracket investment back for next year.

If you can't find another internship, it may be well worth the money. Obviously, getting a good internship without paying for it is a much better deal.

Hey guys, can you cite some programs that are similar to University of Dream but cost less as you said?? I can finding all those resources I can get to land myself an internship! Thank you so much for helping me out!!

My two kids did unpaid internships last summer, one through the school program, the other through U of Dreams. The U of Dreams program was light years ahead of the school one on all facets- housing, placements, outings, support staff.
By the way, both were in the same city and overlapped for some of the time.
There was a cost differential, but U of Dreams covered some meals, transportation passes and some weekend excursions. The school program did not.
I would recommend the program and plan to keep it in mind for the little sib.

how much does UoD cost anyways?

Roughly $7000

oh wow! what a rip off!

do what many of the people on these forums do: work very hard, focus, and network to get those internships!

I was a past London participant, so in my biased opinion, it was a really valuable experience. It was incredible to spend a summer in London riding the tube, immersing myself in the culture, and making weekend trips to Paris, Bath. I miss it already… There were 150 students from all different universities there with me (so it made for a diverse and fun group of people). Plus, I feel my international internship experience will give me an advantage when I graduate.

In my opinion, they over-delivered on even my expectations (which were really high due to the price). The staff in the program are helpful, as they show you the city, but they are young and fun, so they don’t act like babysitters to you. The internship selection was pretty easy as well, and the companies were legit. I had a guy with a british accent helping me choose between a couple of the companies that wanted me to work for them. There were so many weekend/day trips included in the tuition, that made for incredible stories for my friends back home.

I would do the London program again in a heartbeat… Or maybe I would go to Sydney next time?

Lol @ anyone who does this. I didn’t get to go on any “excursions” but I made more than you had to pay for this and I got a full time job offer. How many of you got that?

What a scam and a waste.
