University of Florida 2014/2015 Transfers

Hello hopeful Gators!

Transfer applications for the summer and fall of 2014/2015 are open! I know it won't be awhile until we start hearing back, but I figure we could start this thread now!

Please post your:
Current GPA
College/Major
Term applied

Good luck UF transfers!

Broward College
Current GPA: 3.79
(Pre-prof): 4.0
College/Major: College of Journalism, Advertising.
Term: Summer B, 2014

I'm so impatient! I can't wait to find out!

You’re applying for Fall 2014? It’s unfortunate that you are impatient because most transfers for Fall don’t apply until halfway through the Spring term, and decisions can potentially take months after that…

Good luck everyone. The longest months of my life were the months between my application and acceptance.

Current School: Miami Dade College student
GPA: 3.59 (should raise within fall '13 and spring '13 cc semesters)
College/Major: UF - College of Journalism and Comm., Journalism
Term: Fall 2014 (I know I have a long way to go)
Credits Completed: 47 hours
Pre-reqs: 3/5 completed, 3 completed courses were A’s
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member

Just to help out other impatient applicants like myself, I emailed my stats to someone from UF who “handles transfer applications for the College of Journalism and Communications” and they told me “Your academic record sounds great!”

I do not know much about the Advertising major/admissions but Tweetydbird, I think you will get in.

Good luck to all!

I’m a hopeful UF transfer for Fall 2014. They’ve already received my transcripts. I will have my A.A. in Psychology after Spring term 2014. My current GPA is 3.658, which I hope to raise with this and next semester!! I applied for the Online B.S. in Psychology program. They only needed my H.S. transcript for my foreign language. I’m a member of Phi Theta Kappa at St. Petersburg College.

Oh, and this may sound dumb, but can someone please explain to me what a pre-professional GPA is??

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to be admitted for the Fall 2014 term as an English major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Right now my overall GPA is a 2.91 (I had a bad semester), and I will bring that up over the course of this fall and next spring. I have 75% of my AA completed and after this semester only need 15 more credits. I am about done with my pre-requisites, I only need one more math and one more social science. I’m just wandering is the CLAS a tough admission or not? And should I apply now or wait until after this semester?

Hey everyone.
I have been impatient since I started counting down the days.
Chipola College
Current GPA: 3.53
Pre prof: 4.0
College/Major: Public Relations or Marketing
Intended Transfer Term: Summer B/ Fall 2014
Pre reqs all of them but history since 1865 which I am currently taking
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Member

Wow, I am pretty surprised that they moved me on to the next step in the application process so early. My info says, “Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been referred to your college for a final decision.”

Priscilla13 do you already have your AA or completed your prereqs? I thought they didn’t start applications til after Feb that is when the deadline is.

I completed 2 pre req’s with A’s.I am currently taking one now and I’ll be taking one next semester. I get my AA at the end of Spring. My status still says that it has been sent to my college which is quite surprising, being that it’s only October.

Hey everyone, I am currently attending ucf and was thinking about transferring to uf. Does anyone know if transferring from a state university puts you at a disadvantage than transferring from a community college?

ATine…they do give preference to those with an AA from a Florida community college, but depending on your gpa, prereqs completed and major you should still have a good chance.

agmama… I’m solid in those categories and now need to decide if I should transfer. I am a biomedical sciences major (premed) at ucf and I know when I transfer to UF that my gpa will reset. This combined with the fact that I will be taking difficult classes my junior year and on, does not sound too smart.

THEY ARE ADMITTING PEOPLE NOW! I JUST GOT ACCEPTED!!! I just read the news this morning and in case you were wondering, I applied really early. I’d say about a week after it opened. My stats are up there written by “priscillaosorio”

Priscilla13 what did you write in the intent section of your application and in college courses you listed both the current fall classes and the spring?

I did it about a month ago so my memory isn’t as clear but I believe that I wrote my current and upcoming classes in the spring

I see it now it’s in the directions. Thanks Priscilla13 and congrats.

Bump Can anyone help me? I posted on this thread awhile ago and would like to know what other people think. Thanks.

I dont know much about english, but you should look in the spring transfer thread. I think i saw someone with your major.

I’m planning to transfer to UF in the summer of 2014.

Valencia College
Major: Chemistry
GPA: 3.93
Preprof GPA: 3.75

My EC are almost non-existent but I have no clue how much they take those into consideration when it comes to transfer applicants. I have three classes left in the spring which I hope to ace, which would boost my GPA even higher. Currently awaiting on initial review. Anyone want to chance me?

p.s. I’ve started a thread specifically for Summer 2014 transfers if anyone is interested in jumping on that when the time comes around.

I applied last friday for next fall, I’m pretty excited!

Miami Dade College, receiving AA at the end of this fall
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.57

One thing, one of the prereq courses is not offered in Dade College, I have a friend who was admitted at FIU, same major, same missing course and they allowed him to complete the prereq course in FIU. Will it be the same in UF?

Keep us posted. Good luck guys!
