University of Florida 2014/2015 Transfers

I’m applying for Fall 2014…could someone please chance me?

Current GPA:
Cumulative - 3.42
Pre-professional - 3.35
State university/ Computer Science Major

I feel like my GPA is too low:/

Jeez, I applied on 9/30 and mine still hasn’t been sent for a final decision!!

I think ours is moving so slow because we both applied to CLAS, which houses the most majors as opposed to business and journalism. Mine has been sent out for a final decision for months now, I don’t know how long it will take for them to go through all the applicants, but I do wish they’d hurry. Yours may take a lot more time than mine though, Crystalynthe80s, because Psychology, along with Biology, are the most applied for majors.

Months! that’s crazy. lol It only took UCF just under 3 months to reach a decision! You’re right though I have read that CLAS takes the longest!! Good luck to you!

I applied to CLAS last Saturday, 12/14. English major, 3.2 GPA, instant cumulative GPA 3.45. Will have 60 credits and AA at end of spring term. I am worried my GPA might be to low, but then again I saw a girl get in with my major and she had a 3.03. Ah the wait is going to kill me!

Look guys getting accepted only leads to other smaller stressful matters such as housing and classes.

I’ll trade an acceptance for those stresses any day.

Hello!
I’m very interested in transferring Fall 2014 or Spring 2015 to UF and I’m wondering if I even have a chance or which term are they more lenient with transfers! :)

Current University: FAU
Current Major: Biology (BS)
GPA: 3.37

of credits: 44

I am preprofessional major (pre-dental). I know my GPA is not the greatest all because of one class! :frowning: I don’t have much EC but I hope to join some clubs on campus and have volunteer hours as well for this semester. I’m taking 17 credits this semester and transferring as a Junior and not with an AA. When I do my application, do I include my current classes I will be taking when I enter in my past classes?
I would greatly appreciate some help! :)

I applied for fall 2014
Major - biochemistry
GPA -3.42
I will get my AA in this spring term
I applied in December and I just sent my high school transcript
Broward college

My application has just been referred to my college  can’t wait

I just got accepted! This is so exciting, I applied in September it’s about time!

Hi, I really want to transfer to UF for the fall 2014 semester.
I am coming from an out-of-state university, but I graduated from a Florida high school and my parents still live there and I was accepted to UF when I applied my freshman year, but decided to go elsewhere. Well, now I want to go to UF, but I am only going to have 36 credits by the end of the spring 2014 semester. I have a 4.0, and am involved on campus here, and did very well in high school. I know UF’s policy says they don’t accept freshman or sophomore transfers, but is there ANYONE who has still been accepted as a sophomore transfer, or any way I can get around the policy?

I’ve never heard of anyone transferring before they had 60 credits, but I don’t know. I’d call them to see if they make any exceptions

Does anyone know who makes the decision when your application has been referred to your college for a final decision? I’ve been exchanging emails with the assistant director of my school prior to applying to UF. I just wanted to make sure I keep in touch with the right person just so they have an idea of who I am when they stumble upon my application.

Can anyone help me out? :/

I’m also planning on taking a class in the summer!
I also heard it’s better to transfer as a Junior if you’re attending another university and not with an AA. Is this true?

@Lthomas12 having an AA degree does not hurt your chances. You either have to have 60+ credits (and transfer as a junior) or have the AA degree from a CC. Most universities do not offer AA degree’s (FAU for example only offers a Liberal Arts AA), so it’s expected that transfer students from universities not have AA degrees.

Hi snuggle puggle,
im on the same boat as you, I had a bad fall2013 term. im currently enrolled in Miami Dade college. I have a 2.94 gpa. My major is Health science A.A pathway to Physician Assistant. I applied for Fall 2014 term.
I applied really early and been impatient for a while but I believe we’ll be notified on April.

Good luck every one

hey guys, im just wondering if I could possibly get accepted if I get my A.A in the summer. I applied for the Fall term

Thanks! @Gator88NE

My 3.37 GPA isn’t so great  especially if I want to transfer as a bio major. Does anyone know the minimum or avg GPA for transfers? I know they recalculate it but I keep hearing and seeing online that it’s from a 2.5, 3.0, or 3.5 for bio majors -_- not sure! Lol

Lthomas12, on CLAS it says that 3.5 is competitive for Biology majors. Here’s the link [Transfer Students | Academic Advising Center | University of Florida](http://www.advising.ufl.edu/prospective/transfer.html)
