Your thoughts?

I’m assuming you’re instate because of your internship. To be honest, you have nothing to worry about. Get your ACT score up though!! That’s really your only weakness. You have a good GPA, class rank, extracurriculars and leadership positions. I think you’ll have a. Great shot at scholarships too. I’m looking to apply there also (UF 2020). Best of luck!!!

You’re doing fine. Try to improve your ACT score, but UF does put more weight on your GPA and class rigor. It also puts a lot of weight into your EC’s and leadership positions. Don’t forget to work on your essay, as it does matter at UF.

Good Luck!

EDIT: make sure you apply to one or two safeties. UF admissions can be a bit random and while scholarships are hard to get at UF, the other state universities may offer you significant merit awards. It’s also nice having an acceptance in-hand in October (UCF, USF, UNF, etc. using rolling admissions), while you wait on UF’s announcement in February, makes the wait a bet less stressful.

Um, the OP will not have a good chance at scholarships. For merit based scholarships at UF, you need to be in the ballpark of an SAT of about 2200 or an ACT of 32. Your ECs are pretty unremarkable, and that might hurt you seeing how holistic UF Admissions are. From the looks of your application, it seems like you have a lot of random leadership positions with no common denominator between them. What do you want to major in? Do you want to do Language? Econ? History? Try to find something related to your major this summer. Good luck!

Thank you all!

To Annie Beats:

The common denominator for my extracurriculars is a major in Business. I took leadership positions for my class so that I could learn how to work with others and learn how to be a leader, same with my position in Student Government, where I ran an annual Breast Cancer fundraiser around my community. I was the President of the Chinese National Honor Society for my school because I took classes all the way to Chinese 4 Honors, so I could learn the language for business purposes. Also, I was involved in the University of Florida Entrepreneurs for Leadership and Sustainability. I have learned hands on with my position at the ice cream store I work out and as the only high school intern in the department I work in at Florida and Power and Light so I could purse a business background

I totally respect your opinion but I don’t understand why my extracurriculars are weak or random
