University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the help. :grinning:

I looked up the info and it looked as if Bright Futures does cover summer. Have you had experience with it not covering? We tour Tuesday so I will check that out.

Does anyone know where / how I would find how to withdraw my application or who to email. I declined the scholarship offer, but assume that doesn’t directly go to admission offer.

BF only started being allowed in the summer a year or two ago. For many years it was not, and it could not be used as the reason for not having to do the 9 credits of summer required. Also, Pell is now available for summer so that reason is no longer there (you could get an exemption for summer if you couldn’t afford it, but JUST that BF wasn’t available wasn’t enough).

I have heard as well that all classes are in person and you can just choose to not attend the class if you dont want because the professors also video the class and students can view the class if they watch online and stop and go as they please. So the online only classes is incorrect

Is anyone who applied AFTER the november deadline able to access/sign up for an admitted student event? There are rumors going around for Vanderbilt that it may be a sign of acceptance (their page is very similar) so I just wanted to check and see if this worked for anyone here. It’ll either allow you to sign up (maybe?) or say “access denied.”

haha same rumour is going around for UMiami

lololol this rumor already went around for normal decisions here. the theory got shot down by a UF AO: University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision - #542 by Melissa96

Does anyone know if the Benaquisto Scholarship covers any study abroad expenses?

Only if the study abroad is during fall or spring semester. Summers are not covered.

Anyone know what time decisions come out today?

I just called the office and they said “after 6”

I’m so nervous because I’m not sure of what the acceptance rate is for this decision round ahhh

Has anyone gotten in for March 26 decisions?

Rejected. I feel like it was super low acceptance rate

Aw I’m so sorry to hear that. I was rejected too  And yeah you’re right. Apparently last year or the year before they only accepted 2 people from the late round. And this year UF had like 2% more applications overall too

It was an unusual year and UF honors is competitive … my future gator, ACT 35 taken pre-covid, 4.5 cumulative gpa and 4.99 senior gpa, possibly 1st in class, took the most AP classes in his school by starting APs an earlier grade and carrying extra AP classes in lieu of study hall, Natl Merit Finalist (aka top 1% in the country based on PSAT & grades), tutors others, & did NOT get into honors, but as he said… if that important, re-apply for sophomore year! Someone else just wrote a more appealing essay. Honors will not pre-determine a determined students outcome. Happy to have been accepted in this crazy year.

Food for thought … college rankings go up & down … UF appears (to me) to be on an upward trajectory … times change… incoming 4.51 average gpa of admitted students is impressive … with other competitive students in the mix, well above average students fit right in with the new “average” UF student … where will she be happiest … once she decides, don’t look back. Both are great options.

I would not pick UF based on ranking. To most it’s a solid flagship, no different than UMASS, Oklahoma, Oregon, etc. while US NEws rates it high, 99% of people who hire don’t read the US News college rankings. If you asked 100 people most would see much lower ranked William and Mary and UT Austin as superior. UF is a fine school. I’m just saying don’t choose it solely because if this perceived pedigree. Pick it because it’s right for you.
