I was wondering if someone could describe for me what summer b is at the University of Florida, as I am unfamiliar with it. If you choose summer b, do you have a better chance of being accepted oos? Do you have to attend summer semesters every year after freshman year as well, or can you change to fall/spring?

Also, I have heard conflicting reports about oos being detrimental to an applicant's chances at UF. Opinions?

Since UF is raising it's admission standards, many students who used to have what it takes to get in for the fall, no longer meet the criteria. Therefore, many students are offered admission, but only if they attend Summer B. This just means, instead of starting in August, which would be the fall, you must start whenever Summer B does. I think it's July, but I'm not sure on that one.

As far as every year after that, I believe it's just for your first year, then you can start in the fall each year after that.

Unlike many state schools, such as UNC, Florida schools do not have a quota that must be met. A large portion of the student body is from Florida, yes, but there is also a good mix of students from other states.
