Hi guys
Can someone who is applying or currently attending UF help give me an idea of where I stand for admission?
I’m a senior and UF is my first choice as well. I am an African American female with a:
UW: 3.56
W: 5.4
I’ve ran track and field for 4 years and I’m the school record holder for the sprints.
I’ve been in 5 active clubs and I’m the VP for 1 club and I’m the track team captain. My SAT and ACT scores are fairly low however, I have a 1660 (I’m still waiting on the results of the most recent one). I’ve had over 200 hours of volunteer service including working on the military base, elementary and middle school tutoring, and coached track at the middle school as well as worked at the YMCA during the summer. I’m really really nervous, I hope I get in
Hi, see below. Your GPA is likely OK (UF’s weighted GPA, which is used below, is calculated a little differently from your school districts weight GPA, but I would guess your UF GPA 4.0 or better). UF puts more importance on GPA and class rigor, than test scores. About 50% of admissions is also based on ECs, leadership, volunteer, work, etc. A low test score hurts, but your other factors may help compensate.
Good Luck!
I’d be hopeful too. It’s not a slam dunk but it’s not outside of reasonable chance either.
Thank you both very much! :-j
