University of Florida Fall 2015 Transfers

For those of you who applied to the business school, you will be required to send a screenshot of your finalized grades once they have posted for this semester

To any OOS transfer students that have already been admitted:

Does your degree audit show all your courses/ did your credit evaluation already happen? If so how long did it take after being admitted?

Also, did they accept all/most of your credits including critical tracking?

I was accepted!

I applied March 9th, got my acceptance on April 17th.
Applied from Santa Fe College
GPA - 3.4

College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Major is Criminology

Good luck

Hey guys.
I’ve been following this thread for some time now. I am currently at a community college in Florida I applied early January to the PHHP health science program with a 3.6 GPA and still taking 2 prereq’s right now. I had a lot of volunteer work in a hospital and various events involving health care and I poured my heart and soul into my essays lol.
I got a phone call in early April from the director who left a voicemail saying I got accepted!!
About 10 days later my status changed online to accepted.
And just on Wednesday of this week I received my official acceptance letter. A huge packet with the words WELCOME right on the front. No guessing about whether you’re in or not.
I could not any happier! Good luck to you all!! Go Gators!

Hi again guys:
So UF officially gave me and my boyfriend our financial package. I received a total of $17600 between grants, scholarships I had before, and Work Study (I receive the full Pell Grant). Unfortunately, my boyfriend who also receives all the Pell Grant and shows financial need did not receive any grant or work study other than the Pell Grant. According to UF they already gave all the money. Everything because the Office of Admissions took months to send my boyfriend’s application to the college. So my advice is, if you read this and plan to apply for another term (and need financial aid), apply early. We applied in mid January, my boyfriend’s application took longer, he got accepted in early April and they are not giving anymore financial aid. I think it’s unfair but that’s how it is. Either we don’t go or we take loans, and I personally don’t want to do that now. Guess we are not going. We can’t afford moving to Gainesville right now. Even if we can find a job, I think its not enough to pay for everything.

@wendyyy0207 I also got the short stick because UF is taking forever to make decisions. I was offered an internship at a financial firm in Tampa contingent that I get into a 4 year school. But bc UF is taking forever they had to give my position to someone else

@DRD941 wow idk why they take so long. I know they have a lot of applicants but come on. 3 months?
I’m so dissapointed. We were counting on the financial aid because we are not from families with a lot of money but guess that’s not their problem. I am sure at least half of those who get accepted do not attend the university. I wonder what happens with that financial aid. Let’s see after May 1st that is when freshman have to decide if theyre going or not.

Can anyone tell me how much emphasis UF puts on the 2 Statement of Intents and Activities (extracurriculars)?

What does “Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2015 term has been referred to your college for a final decision” mean? Do I have to call my college to know what decision I got? Or is my application still being processed?

@Lmazoo it means your application has been sent from general admissions to your specific college, as they are the ones who make the final decision. When you apply, your application goes to general admissions, who check to make sure you’re eligible, have all classes accounted for, etc. After that, they send it to the college you applied to, and they make the yes or no decision.

Also, good luck to everyone on their final exams!!

Just checked and got accepted (physics major). I’m declining them though. If there’s a waitlist, good luck to those on it.

@Test90
Congrats! How many hours did you complete? What courses did you complete?
I’m wanting to transfer, but I’m unsure as to what courses I should take and if it’s okay to go over 60 hours…

Has anyone heard anything from the business school? or when we’ll find out?

Got a letter in the mail today. Application to CLAS as an OOS transfer was denied (not competitive enough). It’s probably because my essays were completely different and had a different vibe compared to the essays I sent to all my other universities. Looks like UT Austin it is then, peace and good luck to everyone applying to UF.

does anyone else have holds on their isis account, but has yet to be told if they were accepted?

Going on month 5 and still nothing. This is kind of starting to get ridiculous.

Yup…

I’m planning on transferring to UF for fall 2016 semester as a biochemistry major. My gpa isn’t that great right now, I am going to bring it up to a 3.6 though. my pre req gpa is going to be 3.3 if everything goes right. I was wondering if that’s too low? Also, i got a C in cell biology this semester but I am planning on retaking it. Will that look bad for the application? Any help would be appreciated. I know this might be early but I need to know what the right thing to do is. Is biology 2010 and 2011 equivalent to animal and cell bio?

I will have 60 credits but the time I want to transfer but I won’t have my AA.

Hi guys. I got accepted to UFL as an International transfer student in the Computer Science department. Does anyone know about the credit evaluation report? I can’t seem to find it online.
