University of Florida/ FSU Full ride accpetance?

Hi, I'm currently in High School and my parents make less than 20,000$, my dream is UF or FSU, with an SAT score of 1710, 3.7 unweighted/ 6.07 weighted GPA, DE courses and AP classes passed (Biology, PSYchology, US History and English), what are the chances of me getting a full ride paid my UF/FSU?

You can try the net price calculator on each school’s web site to get an estimate of financial aid that you may get if admitted. Of course, chance of admission is a different story.

Tough to get in with your SAT and you certainly would not get any merit aid. You might get some need based aid.

Are you in-state? UF is a little better than FSU with need based aid. However, neither school offers “Full Rides”. You’ll need to supplement your grants (school aid) with loans, part time work and external scholarships.

Like UCB said, run those net price calculators:

If you end up not being able to afford UF and/or FSU, your best option is likely staying at home (so you can save on the room and board cost) and attend one of the other state universities (UCF, USF, UNF, FAU, etc…) or CC’s. With bright futures scholarships and Pell Grants, you should be able to avoid any loans, while saving money. You can then transfer to UF/FSU as a junior to complete your degree (or stay at a local university). If you live in Orlando, going to UCF and having BF scholarships and Pell grants pay close to 100% of the cost is hard to beat. :)

Good Luck!

PS: at some of the other state universities you may even qualify for a merit scholarship, based on your test scores and GPA. That may even be enough for you to afford going away and living in a dorm at one of these schools.
