Hi I’m an admitted student for UF and it is my #1 choice, but I am out of state. I know it’s super expensive to go there because it’s like 43,000 and only 3% of the class is OOS because it is so expensive. But I was just wondering what the chances are that I could get the aid I need. My EFC is roughly 9000 (which a lot of people say is too high to get the aid I need). I did some research and it said that only like 22% get all the aid they need and the average package is like 11,000… so if anyone can tell me any info that would help or if it’s mostly grants or loans etc??! Please and thank you
Did you run the Net Price Calculator from UF’s website? If yes, what did that tell you?
I’m out of state and I’m in the same situation. My EFC is $3000. I talked to the financial aid people and they said the most grants one can receive is around $11,400…hopefully we will know within a couple of days how much we actually get.
@16hinklebrittany Fingers crossed! I really love UF!!
Google it
have any of yall heard back from UF financial Aid???
yea it’s not good @colleger09
The numbers you read apply to INSTATE students.
UF is a public university dedicated to Florida residents. Therefore, its financial aid goes to Florida residents.
OOS students are admitted for their tuition money. It would make no sense to have a special OOS rate, only to discount it.
I hope you have good, affordable alternatives.
Florida is a state school. It charges high OOS rates because your parents don’t pay taxes there. They expect OOS students to pay that. Giving FA would defeat the purpose of high OOS rates…right?
