I guess I'm the only one who was denied. Whatever, I wasn't even going to go in the first place cause I like UW better.

yay congrats!

me and a friend got rejected.............I guess a 30 act, and a 4.7 weighted gpa isn't good enough..bastards

now thats just wrong

i guess a 4.1 weighted and low 1200 sat isnt either, and plus the fact of overcoming a huge challenge junior year(diagnosed with cancer, had to sacrifice all my AP classes, community work, and trying out for numerous sports team and theatrical productions).

UF just doesn't deserve us, I know I did better. Go UWASH

BruinsJEW, i agree. UF's application methods are absolutely ridiculous.

I was accepted to my "dream school" back in December, so I'm just on the UF thread to vent...

I am SO P I S S E D (have to space it out so it doesn't get blocked) about the fact that so many of my friends (who were more than qualified, as far as UF's stats are concerned) weren't accepted. What the hell kind of game is UF trying to play? I know a lot of less intelligent, less hardworking, and less academically successful students who got in the first round of RD, but now that all the worthy (albeit procrastinating) people applied for RDII got their results...I can't help but feel frustrated.

I'm shocked that those of you who had good standardized test scores and really good GPA's didn't get in. It seems like such a crap shoot with UF admissions.

I was deferred for RDI and now I got waitlisted, but I e-mailed them to take my name off to make room for someone else to go. I'm heading off to Canada if all goes well with immigration.

Congrats and condolences

Im so ****ed............i have a friend with a 970sat who got into fall yet i got a 30 and got flat out rejected....how stupid and dumb is that....this has to be the dumbest admissions office in the country it makes no sense what so ever..

i cant log in for some reason. where do u go to check?

Denied

770 math, 740 CR, 700 Writing, 3.8 UW, In-State..........

Feeling pretty ****ty

Hey don't come in here and rain on other people's parade if you didn't get in. You probably shouldn't badmouth UF either. The admissions officer obviously saw something in your profile that they didn't like or nothing really stood out. Keep in mind that the RDII pool is the most competitive. They have the least number of spots available. If you really wanted to go there, you should have applied sooner. The fruits of your own procrastination will be reaped.

Congrats to all that got in. As long as Princeton, Amherst, or Brown don't decide to send a "Hey buddy, want a full ride?" letter to me, I'll be in gainesville in the fall... returning to my birth city 8-). It should be a ton of fun. I'm looking forward to taking a lot of classes I actually want to take and be done with all this high school bullcrap.

Once again, congratulations and condolences, but don't muck up this thread with anti-UF propaganda.

Note: This is not in reference to the people simply stating they got rejected, but to the people stating that then continuing on to badmouth the school...

I didn't get in.

It IS true that a lot of students got in that probably shouldn't have, and some got rejected who should have.

I'm alright though, I already got into much better ranked colleges.

Congratulations to all who got in!

Accepted. I might actually go to college after all. : )

Also, I know people were checking out and finding their decisions very soon after 5 pm. No one had to wait an hour or two to get decisions.

Accepted!!! Congrats everyone!!

Yea although i was accepted RD II i was defferred rd 1 and i have been accepted to an ivy league school. UF admissions this year is ridiculously tough

thats because UF does not play the affirmative action game

That's a joke. They do play the game. I know kids, if they weren't Peruvian, they wouldn't of got in, since about 15 kids with higher stats and more ec's and more well-rounded got rejected.

they say they dont do it, but look at their student body demographics, its kinda of similiar to the racial make up of our country. Plus, I know of an african-american girl who had below average scores, but was a ballerina RD1 accepted. Admissions is odd, only 3 kids now from my school accepted out of 350...aint that sad.

Essays and letters of recommendation also make the difference.

I'm sorry for the people who did not make it. My friend just found out that she didn't make it either. I was very surprised because I thought she would've gotten in easily.

I guess admission really was tough; I'm still in awe over how I was able to get in. There were probably many others who deserved the spot more than I.
