UF will cost around $8000/yr max. Vandy will cost around $23,000/yr

I want to be pre-med (hence medical school, which is also expensive)

which one should i pick?

focus on your pre-med undergrad first. Then worry about medical school later.

so vandy then?

Med school means a lot of debt. You should probably choose UF if money is any concern.

How are the financial aid packages from both schools?

Your undergrad is your main concern right now. You will have to apply to at least 10 med schools later on. So stick to UF, IMO, in order to enter med school with a minor debt instead of a big one.

gpowsang, the costs i listed r after i deducted fin aid. both fin aid are scholarship/grant. no loans

Let’s really think about true cost here:

If your in-state and have half a brain you will receive the Bright Future Scholarship. Also if your parents got you Florida pre-paid then it’s all covered any way.

In-state tuition at UF is only 3.5k a year. Whereas tuition at Vandy is 37k a year.

Also housing is far cheaper in Gainesville in comparison to Nashville.

Not to mention UF will be at least slightly easier than Vandy, leading to a (hopefully) higher GPA and easier entrance into medical schools.
