University of Florida with Disability

hi im new here, i have had an IEP/LD since i was in elementary school and im currently about to complete my junior year of high school at a very competitive public high school in New Jersey where i am in pretty much all College Prep courses. I have a 2.8-2.9 GPA and i havent gotten my SAT scores back yet(took them in June) but i suspect ill get something in the 1000 to 1200 range most likely a 1100 if i had to guess and i have decent EC's. Anyway its been my dream to go to The University of Florida since i was 6 years old and with UF just opening a new LD center on campus and them expecting to have around 59 incoming freshman for fall of 2006 become members of their new up and coming program ive become intrigued to see if my dream can actually come true.just want to see whatyou guys think my chances are and if you have any reccomendations for me it would be greatly appreciated. also i have some legacy at UF with uncle aunt and 5 cousins graduating from UF if thats help any. Thanks again!

how did you find out about the 59 incoming freshman? any idea as to expected numbers for the 2007 HS graduates?

My advice would be to contact the new LD center directly and talk with them. It's wonderful that this new program is starting, and the LD center staff will probably have a good sense of whether it would be a good fit for you. I hope it is! Let us know what you find out.

mishdoob,I found out about the 59 incoming freshman through the UF school newspaper and the UF website but unfourtantly they didnt say anything about class of '07 HS Grads. AnonyMom, thanks for the advice of contatcing the LD center directly to talk with them about the program and me in the program possibly,i will certainly contact them soon. Thanks to the both of you for the support and advice and i will certainly keep you updated!
