is anyone else applying here ED or RD? if so, what are your stats? i'm applying ED. eek, i'm so nervous! keeping my fingers and toes crossed! ;)

bumpity bump bump!

My friend got in with:

Rank 1/125
GPA 4.0 UW
ACT 28
SAT 1280
EC'S not many
From Alabama

in state, you can getinto UF with a 1200+ and some good ECs... UF is a fairly good college and they are not rigorous on your SAT... although... having a top GPA is favored... a 4.0 definitely helped.

UF is becoming more and more competitive. From my experience with the school, I have gotten the impression that they are very stats-driven. A 1250 or below is probably a hindrance to admission while a 1350+ is a positive.

Anyways, I applied RD
1/465
4.0 uw
9 APs
1570 SAT I/ 800,790,760 SAT IIs
Decent ECs
FL

BTW, decisions come out in less than 3 weeks!

you got in slip... but... in-state helps too. ;)

does anyone know someone who got in with low scores and GPA? if so, what were their stats? i'm so nervous, i don't think i will get in...
i applied ED
3.5 GPA
22 ACT
great essay and recs
a lot of extracurriculars
hispanic female

do i stand a chance @ all?!

Admissions to UF, like any highly competitive state school, can be a bit of an enigma. Many people with seemingly good grades and 1300+ SATs get rejected, while others with sub-par grades and SATs get in. UF uses a "holistic" approach, including essays and ECs, to determine admission. Still, Barrons and USNews now considers UF to be in the "Most Selective" category with regard to admissions. I would say you have a chance, for sure, even though your grades and ACT appear to be low, if the rest of your portfolio shines. Good luck.
