Does anybody know exactly what the cutoffs/requirements are to be accepted automatically into the honors program after being admitted EA?

Has anyone heard from UGA honors?

I talked to an honors program rep on the phone today, and she said that acceptance letters to the program go out on December 15th. Apparently the top 10-15% of accepted early action applicants are automatically admitted into the program this way. The rest can still apply online and hear back later. Hope this helps.

I wonder if they went out today? Please post if anyone gets a letter!

We received letter today on Honors acceptance

Stats, please? :)

I received an auto-admit today!

I think they look at strictly stats only, so here a some of mine:
SAT: 2200 (670CR, 770MA, 760 WR)
ACT: 33
AP CLASSES: 10 (five 5’s, five 4’s)
GPA: 4.3 (on uga weight scale)

Are your auto admits to honors coming via email or snail mail?

Auto-admits come by snail mail.

I got a letter today and I live in Tennessee. Good luck, everybody!

where in tennessee? what are your stats?

I’m from Knoxville.

GPA: 4.1 (I think)

ACT: 35

I took 5 AP classes and I’m taking 3 more this year (plus a post-AP class).

Does anybody know when they send out scholarship notifications?

My son received his honors letter today

GPA 4.6
ACT 35
OOS: Ohio

My daughter just received her letter today:

Atlanta
7 APs by Junior year (fives and fours); plus 5 senior year
SAT 800/740/790 CR/M/W
GPA 4.0 weighted and unweighted by UGA’s scoring system.
– She’s from a school that adds weight to individual grades, so she’s limited by the UGA weighting system to a maximum of 4.0.

An Honors Program rep said they sent letters out Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Her’s was postmarked Tuesday. A friend got the letter two days ago so we were starting to wonder, but if they sent others out Wednesday, you may not see one till next week.

I got my letter today. 2190 and 35, 3 ap tests 4,4,5, enrolled in 5 this year, national merit semifinalist and 3.98 unweighted and 4.2 weighted from Texas

I got a letter today inviting me to apply. This is not an auto-admit, correct?
I’m really disappointed. I was expecting an auto-admit. Now I’m not very motivated to fill out the application, especially considering it will be more essays and I have to ask for another Teacher Rec. I’m just frustrated right now!

tropicalslushies did you apply EA? That’s the only way to get auto-admit into honors. EA didn’t need any teacher rec’s, so I’m thinking you applied RD. Maybe you can send one of your teacher recs with the honors app. Honors is a different department than admissions.

I did apply EA.

I’m sorry, if you were expecting an auto admit then try to bang out the essays and get your app in because you’ll probably get it. If your heart is set on UGA their honors program is great.

Got Honors auto admit! 2030 SAT 31ACT. 4.1 uga GPA. 7 APs(max allowed at school). two post APs and all honors classes available. I feel like my test scores are a bit low but my course load is the hardest available.
