I got into Mccombs Business school UT Austin ,however, I also got in Bauer Business school of University of Houston. If possible I would like a side by side comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the two schools’ business programs and just the overall campus. It’s really difficult for me to decide because I was granted an almost full ride scholarship at UH but still have to pay 8k only for my four years. However, in UT I’m still waiting to hear more from them of their financial aid for me.
anyone can give me some advice?
Do you plan on staying in Texas? If not, I would try to make McCombs work, but not if it requires large loans.
McCombs is in the top tier of business schools and the recruitment opportunities would be worth extra effort.
They are not on the same level. UT Austin McCombs will open more doors for you, no question about it. I assume you are in-state Texan. The tuition of UT is such a bargain that you can easily cover by fin aid or a summer job.
My situation is unique in that my mom is a single earner yet she makes above 100k by working two jobs (one that is completely seasonal) you really think I’ll get enough financial aid? As far as I can tell, UT is frugal with handing out money.
Wait for your fin aid package before asking. Without knowing what the details of the two options are, I don’t see how we could give good advice.
If it is affordable, I would suggest UT. They are pretty far apart in ranking.
If affordable, UT is the better choice for business.
I would strongly advise you to go to UT-Austin if you can make it work financially. It will open more doors (especially if you want to stay in Texas) and is considered one of the best undergrad business programs.
Definitely UT Austin. The opportunities at Texas runs circles around that of UH. Whether it is tech, banking, operations, supply chain, management, or whatever else, Texas has the best available.
