I am considering going to UIC next year because i love the city and the low cost (my mother works there so I get half off). Is there anyone who has gone/is going there now who can tell me about the dorms, classes, etc.? it would be a huge help.

Oh and please don't tell me how bad of a school it is if you didn't even go there- I have been noticing this in other UIC threads. thanks!

Most of the dorms are fairly new or have had recent renovation. It is important to apply early because there is limited space.
The UIC area has improved greatly in the past decade. A true University area has appeared. The last of the housing projects on Taylor have been torn down. The number of students living on or near campus is at an all time high.
The difficulty of classes do vary. It will not be a cakewalk. The sizes will vary. For most majors, the upper division courses tend to be smaller.
You can reach most buildings within a 10 minute walk.
UIC is a large research school. It is the third largest in the state.
You’ll get a U-pass. You’ll get unlimited rides on the CTA.

Ah, just the thread I need to piggy-back. May I ask, on my own part, how much weight an application to transfer from UIC would hold if the applicant had a 3.5-4.0 GPA?

I’m especially thinking of colleges such as UCLA, USCA and DePaul. Tanks’ a bunch.

im just not sure if i want to room is JST for my freshman year. it is obviously the best dorm for underclassmen, but isn’t it far away from all everything else?
