I was almost set on going to UIUC for Computer Engineering (as I heard it was one of the most prestigious programs in UIUC). However, I was also accepted to UIC’s GPPA of Pharmacy (which is a program that guarantees admission to pharm school).
Now I have two universities with their best programs I have accepted to and I do not know which one to pick. I definitely don’t like the idea of commuting from home (since I am from Chicago) but I’m almost getting no money from UIUC either. I want to live in a college life, but I know UIC would not provide that. I am stuck between the two great programs I’ve been accepted to.
Interesting. The bigger question is do you want to go into pharmacy or Computer Engineering? Which profession interests you more to pursue as a career? Four years of college will pass.
I’d say that you should make a list of what’s most important to you like things you definitely cannot live without in college (college life, job prospects, degree). Then see which school has what.
Then after that, add onto each of the school lists some additional pros and cons that come with that school.
I do this with hard decisions because it helps me to see it in front of me instead of just visualizing it in my mind. You have to be honest with the list even though you might have some biased about a specific school already. Also you should really consider which major you would like to major in more because computer engineering and pharmacy are quite different…
