How good are my chances of getting into the university of iowa for biology with a 30 act and a 3.9 GPA? Also I am hispanic and in a varsity sport.

Assuming your HS curriculum was “college prep” as defined by the University, your chances are 100%. See the following to calculate your RAI:
[College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Admission Requirements for First-Year Students - Requirements and Deadlines - Undergraduate Admissions - The University of Iowa](http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/requirements/rai-page.html)

If your RAI meets/exceeds the threshold called out, you’re in.

Extremely high. The University of Iowa calculates what is called an RAI score, which combines GPA, Class rank, ACT score, and number of core classes taken. If you’re score is above a 245, which yours probably will be way above, then you are automatically admitted. You don’t even need to write an essay and they don’t care much about extracurricular activities, though I think you need to include a few in your application. I believe they will really only consider them if your high school doesn’t do class rank or if your RAI is below 245. Here is the link to the RAI calculator: [Admission to Iowa’s Regent Universities: Regent Admission Index](Regent Admission Index | Board of Regents State of Iowa)
