@AndradeJ for internal, from my understanding (I talked to admissions about switching to an LEP once admitted) and they said they do not post decisions until AFTER the semester ends for internal decisions about program switching. No matter when submitted. I think it is about 2 weeks after semester ends??? Or it is 1 week??? But, the Business schools IS competitive. Unlike some of the LEP that are not, like engineering. So you will know probably around May/June if you already attend UMD. It is a different application process as well…
I got denied. Had a 3.33 gpa with 35 credits that were relevant to what I was applying for as well as A’s in both college level English and math. I thought my application was really good but I guess not. I still think they made a mistake.
Man I just wish I got a decision
what is happening this year??
I’m really contemplating appealing if that’s at all possible…
@fallenrecon15 I did!
@fallenrecon15 I’m from NJ, I will have 33 credits by the end of the spring semester. Was accepted earlier but not for Smith however I just looked into it and I did not take an Accounting course yet so that may be the issue.
@CurlyLocks39 I’m a student at UMD already and I applied as an internal transfer. People who have their gateways completed already and 45 credits hear about their decision before the end of the semester like Mid-April but they haven’t released them yet and I wanted to see if anyone else had heard about their internal transfer decision yet.
Hopefully I hear by tomorrow or early next week because internal transfer orientations for Smith Business school start next Friday @CurlyLocks39
@orvanik from what my friend told me is if you get into letters and sciences you didn’t get into an LEP. I applied to smith and got accepted into smith. If you go to smith’s website you can see transfer requirements and cross reference your courses with the UMD courses. I had to take Accounting 1 & 2, Calculus I and Stats (both calculus and stats have to be the math level versions not the business versions.)
I got in for Information Science!
@sbk0021 I wonder if I am currently in a gateway course? Smiths website isn’t very helpful since I cannot tell my community college equivalents. But, if I didn’t get in that must mean they were being extremely selective, everyone I’ve talked to from prior years said I would pretty much be a shoe in with my stats. If you don’t mind what were your stats?
To those who had their recommendation letters submitted online, did yours happened to appear as “not received” online but received offline under “other supporting documents”? That’s how it appears in my portal and was wondering if that is the reason why I did not get a decision today.
@KarMarc Mine appeared that way too and I didnt think recommendations were required. Might be worth to check it though.
@sbk0021 what were your stats when you transferred?
@ShiwftyPugs I’m doing info sci too! What are your stats? I got put on hold.
@orvanik what were your stats?

Looking through last years transfer thread many people in LEP’s had to wait up until a week later to see if their program changed. Many had to call advising or email the LEP to get their portal updated. Seems with how behind they are this may be the case again.
Are you internal or external transfer @orvanik ?
